Definition - Derivation of 3D structure from a series of 2D projections obtained at different angles through a specimen imaged with transmission electron microscopy. Single tilt tomography involves obtaining projections as the specimen is rotated around a single fixed axis. Resolution is degraded in planes orthogonal to the tilt axis because of missing information.
