Description

To measure the in vivo mobility of the major nuclear lamina protein lamin A, human fibroblasts were transfected with the gene fused to EGFP. Fluorescence images were recorded with a confocal microscope before and after bleaching a horizontal band across the cell. Images show the relative amounts of lamin A using color coding in which red is mximal and blue minimal. Left, pre-bleach; center, immediately after bleach; right, after 60 secs of recovery. See Fig 1A in: C N Dahl et al. 2006. Proc Natl10276 Acad Sci 103:10271-10276.

Technical Details

512x512 pixel images were obtained with a Zeiss LSM 510 confocal microscope using a 100x objective lens and zoom 4.
