Description

Transmission electron micrograph of longitudinal section of rat cardiac muscle from the atrium. A of group of horizontally-running myofibrils is seen at the top. Also prominent are numerous glycogen granules (small darkly staining spheres), two atrial granules (larger homogeneously staing spheres) and a mitochondrion. Image made available by James D.
