Description

Transmission electron micrograph of section through the macronucleus of Nassula sp containing many darkly staining nucleoli.

Technical Details

TEM taken on 4/1/69 by R. Allen with Philips 300 operating at 60kV. Neg. 7,650X. Bar = 1µm. A print of the negative was scanned and processed in Photoshop. This image is suitable for quantitative analysis. A lower resolution image (CIL:11039) is available in the library for qualitative analysis. Standard glutaraldehyde fixation followed by osmium tetroxide, dehydration in alcohol and embedding in epoxy resin. Microtome section thickness approximately 75nm.
